Wednesday's Walk ~ I Remember When....

This marks my second week participating in Wednesday' walk and I do like it as it makes me think of wonderful memories that occurred in my life. As I sit here blogging my toddler is laying next to me. The memory I wish to share is the birth of my baby girl Lilliana.

It was February 19th, 2008 and my boyfriend and I were visited by his parents and we went out. We had a blast celebrating life. As I was scheduled for a c-section on the 20th, so I was more than ready to have this baby. When my boyfriend and I got home we got intimate. Well I guess the baby did not like that one bit. Throughout the day I was cramping. We went to his cousin's friends' house and just kicked back. The whole time I was still having cramps I did not think nothing of it at the time.

We got home pretty late and my boyfriend Antonio went to bed I was unable to do so. I told him of my cramps and that I was in pain. He asked me if I thought I was in labor. I told him no I think it's braxten hicks. Unable to sleep and the urge to use the potty, I went to the bathroom and just sat there in pain. I kept telling myself it wasn't real just the fake labor pains.

Well it got to the point of the pain making me cry. I was in sooooo much pain that I wanted to die. That's when I knew I was in real labor. I called 911 and they told me an ambulance would be on it's way. I woke up Antonio and told him I called the ambulance. he got dresssed and went with me once it arrived.

At the hospital I asked the doctor if I could get pain medication and they checked me down there. Well it turned out I was fully dilated and ready to give birth. They were unable to give me pain medication. I gave birth pretty quick after that.

Lilliana weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces. She was my biggest baby ever. I could not believe I went through the labor pains guess I can tolerate pain. I so adore her, she is a beautiful little toddler full of life.

Wednesday's Walk ~ I Remember When....

If you want to join in the fun, just hop over to Jenilee's blog by clicking on the button, and link up your memory. Any memory at all works.

I Remember When......

I can remember the very first time I met my fiance.
(He is the one in the red shirt)
I was packing and cleaning the house I was moving out of. I was with one of my friends at the time we went to my storage to put stuff in there. Well as many of you may or may not know I am a recovering alcoholic/addict. I am going on three years clean and sober in August. I am most proud of. That is another story.
And the two of us (her more than me) was looking for our next fix. As I had to "pay" her for helping me, some friend. Anyways she seen this guy on his bike and yelled out to him. I stopped the car as she chatted with him. He went to the empty house and we chatted. She introduced us and he seemed pretty shocked to know it was me. I did not know if it was because I got a bad rap from my former boyfriend. (He was a cheating boyfriend and I got blamed for just about all the things that went wrong in his life. Now that is another story to tell.)
I am still curious as to his first thoughts of me ( my fiance). I think I will ask him when he gets home from work. Anyways that was the first time I met my fiance and I am proud to say we have been together for 2 years and have a beautiful baby girl together.

I just want to say that I am proud of my recovery and I have come a long way. I also wanted to change and make my life better for myself and my kids. So if you know someone struggling with alcohol or drugs don't give up on them. They may want to change and may have lost all hope in doing so. They need the support and love from family and friends.
I do not forget where I have come from and I do not look down on those with any type of life's problems, nor do I judge, as only God can Judge. I do believe everything happens for a reason and I sure have gone through so much during my life, which as made me the strong person I am today. I also like to help others by sharing my stories with the hopes of touching someone's heart in any way to help save them.

That is one of my memories and I will be sure to do Wednesday's Walks to share more memories, who know I may help someone in the process.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!
Thanks for sharing your memories with us and linking up today! Feel free to follow along for more memories each Wednesday!

Thursday's Thoughts

To start I would like to announce that things went well at court today regarding my boys. I am now officially on FM and in two months time my case is closed and this ordeal that help saved my life is behind us. We will once again be a typical family.

I went to a banquet tonight with Antonio. He was being honored for his accomplishments in his life. The banquet was hosted by Hope Now for Youth. We are a part of this program and go to their church as well. The program helps youth involved with gangs find their way back to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

"Let Go and Let God"

I was sent this email today and thought it would touch some hearts.

Hi Dad!

After living what I felt was a 'decent' life, my time on earth came to the end.

The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a court house.

The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the 'prosecutor.'

He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me.  He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.

I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney,  kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt I knew Him.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in full flowing robes.

He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room I couldn't take my eyes off Him.

As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, 'Let us begin.'

                                The prosecutor rose and said,

'My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell.'

He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole, and In the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible Perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank.

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at My Attorney who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all.

I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had done some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, 'This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise.'

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench.  The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward.

As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and majesty..

I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior.
He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, 'Hi, Dad,' and then He turned to address the court.

'Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, the wages of sin is death, and this man deserves to be punished.'

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, 'However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and he has accepted Me as his Savior, so he is Mine.'

My Lord continued with, 'His name is written in the Book of Life,  and no one can snatch him from Me.

Satan still does not understand yet.  This man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy.'

As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said, 'There is nothing else that needs to be done.'

                                'I've done it all.'

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down.  The following words bellowed from His lips..

'This man is free.  The penalty for him has already been paid in full.  'Case dismissed.'

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, 'I won't give up, I will win the next one.'

I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, 'Have you ever lost a case?'

Christ lovingly smiled and said,'Everyone that has come to Me and asked Me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, ~Paid In Full~'

If you do not pass this along to 10 people immediately, absolutely nothing will happen.

Passing this on to anyone you consider a friend,
(As I have done here), will bless you both.

                                                          (or Re-post)

'Stop telling God how big your storm is.
Instead, tell the storm how big your God is!'

This story brought tears to my eyes. It also made me realize that we all forget the sacrifices Jesus made for us and we need to live a faithful life.

Have a goodnight!

A New Chapter Begins

On February 13th, 2010 I moved into my 3 bedroom home with my children. We were all very excited and the space and room in amazing. A HUGE difference from the cramped 2 bedroom apartment we used to live in. My boys and girls have their own room in which they are decorating to their own styles and personalities. I have a mini office area and trying to get organized so that I can run my home business smoothly. As I could not do this alone I want to thank my mother and my fiance, his brother and his co-worker for helping us move.

I see it as a new chapter in our lives. This marks the beginning of a new life for us all. We will grow and make this place a home. I am really excited and also overwhelmed as I am un-packing and getting rid of things I no longer need. I am also in the process of creating a database of my current inventory of my products. I will have an OPEN HOUSE soon to display the products on hand to sell and book candle parties as well. I intend to expand my business and looking into the different avenues in doing so.

On February 14, 2010 I cleaned up the apartment and turned in my keys. I was really sad in doing this as I looked at the empty apartment and reminisced. I lived there for 19 months. That was the longest time I ever lived in one place. I was not only proud of myself but I felt a sense of accomplishment.

I will post pics of my new home once I upload them.

A Fresno Mommie Finding

Sneaking in Fiber
By: Reader's Digest

Ten ways to plant more "good carbs" into your diet.

In the lexicon of weight loss, the term "good carbs" refers to complex carbohydrates. These are foods like whole grains, nuts, beans, and seeds that are composed largely of complex sugar molecules that require lots of time and energy to digest into the simple sugars your body needs for fuel. Virtually every weight-loss program--be it Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, or Dr. Dean Ornish's--welcomes complex carbs as part of a healthy, lean, long-term diet.

One of the biggest benefits of foods rich in complex carbs is that they also contain large amounts of fiber. Fiber, in basic terms, is the indigestible parts of plant foods. It is the husk on the grain of wheat, the thin strands in celery, the crunch in the apple, the casings on edible seeds. Fiber protects you from heart disease, cancer, and digestive problems. Depending on the type of fiber (yes, there are more than one!), it lowers cholesterol, helps with weight control, and regulates blood sugar. Bottom line: This is one nutrient you don't want to miss. Yet the average American gets just 12-15 grams of fiber a day--far below the recommended 25-30 grams. And that was before so many of us started cutting carbs for weight loss--and cutting fiber in the bargain.

Here's how to sneak "good carbs" and extra fiber into your daily diet with a minimum of effort.

1. Eat cereal every day for breakfast. Ideally, aim for a whole grain, unsweetened cereal with at least 4 grams of fiber a serving. Just eating any cereal might be enough, however. A University of California study found that cereal eaters tend to eat more fiber and less fat than non-cereal eaters. Healthy, high-fiber cereals you might want to consider include Kellogg's All-Bran Original, Kashi GOLEAN, and Kellogg's Raisin Bran.

2. Eat two apples every day. Not just to keep the doctor away, but because apples are a good source of pectin, a soluble fiber that contributes to a feeling of fullness and digests slowly. A 1997 study published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition found that 5 grams of pectin was enough to leave people feeling satisfied for up to four hours.

3. Make a yogurt mix every Wednesday for breakfast. Take one container of yogurt and mix in 1/3 cup All-Bran cereal, 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds, and 5 large, diced strawberries for a whopping 12.2 grams of fiber--nearly half your daily allowance!

4. Make baby carrots and broccoli florets dipped into low-fat ranch dressing your afternoon snack three days a week. You'll fill up the empty afternoon space in your tummy while getting about 5 grams of fiber in each cup of veggies. Get healthy recipe ideas for carrots and broccoli.

5. Keep a container of gorp in your car and office for the munchies. Mix together peanuts, raisins, a high-fiber cereal like All-Bran, and some chocolate covered soy nuts. Allow yourself one handful for a sweet, yet high-fiber, snack.

6. Switch to whole grain crackers. You'd never think a tiny cracker can make a difference, but one regular whole wheat cracker has 1/2 gram of fiber. Ten crackers give you 5 grams of fiber. So next time, spread your peanut butter on whole grain crackers (look for brands that proclaim they're trans-fat-free) instead of bread for a different taste treat.

7. Mix your regular cereal with the high-test stuff. Okay, we'll be honest. We wouldn't want to face an entire bowl of All-Bran either. But just 1/3 cup packs a walloping 8.5 grams of fiber. Mix it with an equal amount of Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and you'll barely know it's there (but you will be one-third of the way to your daily fiber intake). Check out the Nature's Path brands, which offer several truly delicious, high-fiber choices.

8. Add kidney beans or chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans) to your next salad. A quarter cup adds an additional 5 grams of dietary fiber, notes Lisa Andrews, R.D., a nutritionist at the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati.

9. Make sure that the first ingredient in whole grain products has the word "whole" in it, as in "whole wheat," or "whole grain." If it says multi-grain, seven-grain, nutra-grain, cracked wheat, stone-ground wheat, unbromated wheat or enriched wheat, it's not whole wheat, and thus is lacking some of the vitamins and minerals, not to mention fiber, of whole grains. Try these recipes for whole grains.

10. Every week, try one "exotic" grain. How about amaranth, bulgur, or wheatberries? Most are as simple to fix as rice, yet packed with fiber and flavor. Mix in some steamed carrots and broccoli, toss with olive oil and a bit of Parmesan or feta cheese, maybe throw in a can of tuna or a couple of ounces of cut-up chicken, and you've got dinner. Or serve as a side dish to chicken or fish. Make sure all grains you try are whole grains.

Eye Opener

Wow today I weighed myself and I could not believe what my eyes had seen. I weighed in at 198.2 pounds. I had gained at least 5pounds since last week.

I went to Vegas over this past weekend and I blame all the buffets for my weight gain. LOL But seriously I need to really lose weight and eat healthier. I went to the doctor last night regarding labs I had done a couple of weeks ago. I got bad news regarding my cholesterol levels. The bad ones were high 137 and he told me they had to be lower than 100. He roughly estimated if I do not eat right or lose weight that in about 3 years I could have a heart attack and die. Yep he told me just like that. So he told me no more fast foods and to limit myself to one serving of bread a day and of course exercise.

The exercise part is going to take some severe will power as I admit to being lazy and I hate to exercise, but my life means a lot to me so exercise I will.

Just a quick note:
Eat right and exercise. Make you you go to the doctor and have complete labs done to check your body for anything out of the norm.

I did have a blast in Vegas. I seen my dad and various other relatives. I didn't really gamble much and I rode the rides and played games at Circus Circus. I think that was the highlight of my vacation. Being in the casinos with all the smokers just inflamed my lungs causing me to have several asthma attacks. We stayed at the Four Queens and I enjoyed my stay there. The old strip downtown was very entertaining for us all. My baby girl Lilliana went with us and I do admit she did very well on that seven hour drive. It was her first time in Vegas along with Antonio my fiance. He had a great time playing blackjack with my dad. His new fave he says.

So much has happened so far. I got great news today!!! I applied to rent a 3 bedroom house with a front and backyard on Friday. Today I went into the property management office and found out I was approved for the home. YAYME! For those of you new to my blog, I currently live in a small 2 bedroom apartment. There are 4 children and me in this small place. No room for anything at all, so this house is a blessing for us all. Now for the part that I hate more than folding laundry and that is packing. UUUGH! I plan to move into my home on the first of feb at least that is my goal. So much to do so little time. I am grateful that the kids went back to school so I can pack comfortably. They have already started packing up their belongings.

My weight loss plan is still in effect. I weighed myself today and my current weight is 193.6 I gained one pound since I last weighed myself. ( I can't remember when that was.) I want to lose weight so that I can prepare my body for the pregnancy. My fiance and I are planning our second child together and I want to be healthy for this. Then ofcourse after the baby I will need to lose the weight I gain and then some. I will be walking more when I move into my house. That is another goal I have.

I am starting to feel like my mind is at ease. I don't feel stressed out any more and I know good things will happen if I just Let Go and Let God. After all it is in His hands and not mine.

I am going on a vacation to Vegas and I am so happy to be getting away for a little bit. I also get to see my dad and my little brother. I cannot remember the last time I went to Vegas. Oh ya I am going to catch up with a high school friend, so that is cool.

On Thursday, I have court for my boys. I am hoping the courts finally say case closed and my boys are mine again. I have traveled a long and hard road, but it has paid off in the end.

My online shop is coming along slowly. I am still updating the site with great products. You can join my affiliate program under two levels free and one time fee. I am also preparing new strategies for my Gold Canyon business. I am going to work a little harder this year than I did last year. So if you want to book a catalog party and earn free Gold Canyon products please contact me. Also if you are considering working from home think Gold Canyon you can start for as little as $20!

I am going to be blogging more often than I have, hopefully next month, as this month I will be packing and moving. Wow a house I am still in awe over the whole thing. Til the next time I blog.

Blast From The Past

There is a saying friends are forever. Well I just got a blast from the past. I chatted with three of my high school friends whom I call my best friends on a conference call. It was like high school all over again. I had  a blast talking to them. It made me realize just how much I have missed them. Life needs friends and you can not go through it without them. I will do my best to always keep in touch with them.

Life is a funny thing. You just don't know what is going to happen from day to day. It can take different turns down the roads of life. One thing will not change is who you are deep inside within. I have suffered many horrific events since the age of 13 and yes it has sculpted the way I think and perhaps my personality as well. No matter what I still feel I am the same person within. I am not sure if this makes sense but I thought I give it a shot.

I am just trying to say if you have good friends in your life or even back in high school try to get in touch with them. If you stopped talking for some reason get over it and make amends because having your friends should mean more than an old grudge. Friends are like family and Family is Forever!

Good night til next I write.

When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered which
is the freshest, so you 'squeeze' for freshness or softness? Did you know
that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week? Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different color
twist tie.
They are:
Monday = Blue
Tuesday = Green
Thursday = Red
Friday = White
Saturday = Yellow
So if today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie; not white which is
Fridays (almost a week old)! The colors go alphabetically by color
Blue-Green - Red - White - Yellow, Monday through Saturday. Very easy to
remember. I thought this was interesting. I looked in the grocery store and
the bread wrappers DO have different twist ties, and even the ones with the
plastic clips have different colors. You learn something new everyday! Enjoy
fresh bread when you buy bread with the rigt color on the day you are
shopping.

Don't forget "Gatorade" for Migraine Headaches & Hang-overs. PowerAide
won't work.

Pass this information on to friends so they can be informed.

Manic Monday on Tuesday

You know when you think your day is going to go a certain way and then you get stuck on the computer and nothing has been done. Well that is me right now. I have been glued to this seat at the computer for the last 3 hours updating my sites and have the tv for background noise.
I know this may or may not be some of you out there, but it does get a lil annoying at times on my part. I am not trying to bash on myself or justify it. I am just getting my new online shoppe filled with many great products and I will do some house chores before I  take Lily to the doctor for her flu booster shot. I do keep my kids appts.
Well just a lil ranting on myself. Oh did I mention I am supposed to be packing as I will be moving come Feb? I know it's a ways away but I need to start now or nothing will get done. LOL
If you want to participate in Manic Mondays got to:
and sign up.
Time to finish up here on the computer then I got dishes to do.
Have a Great Day!
